Dear, future participants of the Take Trips MES If you haven't heard of this program before this is a program In which you will have mentors who help the youth. Who've been incarcerated to not go back and make a different entire path for yourself and head towards the right direction. This program helped me benefit, In life to have work ethic if you don't work hard and push yourself to do better you're not gonna feel good about yourself. The mentors of this program really care about the youth and have their best interest in the youth and wants to help and build a connection with the youth.
The best advice I got for the youth is To be yourself and never give up on yourself; because your special and its up to you to change your future. If you have bad moments which you will have in life u get through them and keep going no matter what it benefits you a lot in the end.you will be successful if you believe in yourself at first I wasn't doing my best I was lacking a lot of work ethic but, I got myself together now I'm doing better for myself. What you can expect in this program Is the best mentors who really care about your mental health and help you to push yourself, It might seem confusing and hard But at the end it helps you they get you to be the best version of yourself.
Love, kayden
As my time here at Take Trips MES comes to an end, I reflect on how the many small little aspects of the organization that appear small but that are loud to me and in our society. With a team that feels like family and a mission that will and is changing the world, I will never forget what it was like to be a part of something so impactful, beautiful and life-changing. My views changed on the world that day. It's a bit fascinating to me how if one takes a couple of days to indulge themselves in something so great, how much it can change your life. You may not have thought you needed changing but you'd be surprised at how much impact something so particular can have on you. I stepped into the shoes of many people. The youth, the incarcerated, the heroes, survivors and the misunderstood and though I will never truly know what it was like, because it is their story and their experience and that is something that can never be taken away from them, I can open my heart to understand and work to keep each legacy alive, by sharing their stories and spreading the word.
TTMES taught me that. It all starts with you and you can make a difference but you have to be willing to even want to see and make that difference. You have to want it. That is what TTMES taught me. Leave your mark on the soils of this earth and change a life or lives for the better. I would like to thank every single one of you here at TTMES, for you have made my experience here life-changing! Thank you for your kindness and for the way you welcomed me. Thank you for every single feedback and every single acknowledgement. Thank you for teaching me and allowing me to learn. Thank you for sharing your stories with me and telling me that you see me. Thank you for such a safe space where creativity is encouraged and most importantly thank you for all that you do. For all the beautiful souls that you are keeping alive and for all the stories you are retelling over and over again until something is done about it. Thank you for showing me that I too can make a change in this world. Thank you for it all and may you all continue to be blessed and may TTMES grow in abundance and may more lives and stories be reached and told. Thank you for showing up!
Much love, appreciation and well wishes – Hubert
